Thursday, January 25.  Luncheon with Guest Speaker: Upstairs at noon; Lunch at 12:15. Photojournalist Amy Davis has garnered many national awards since joining the staff of The Baltimore Sun in 1987. Her fine art training from The Cooper Union informs her documentary approach. Her photographs have been exhibited at The Brooklyn Museum, The Jewish Museum of Maryland, and area galleries. Davis’ work is in the collection of the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, New York, and private collections. Amy spent almost nine years researching and photographing Baltimore City’s theaters for Flickering Treasures: Rediscovering Baltimore’s Forgotten Movie Theaters, published by Johns Hopkins University Press in September of 2017. She was awarded the 2013 Thomas R. Dubuque Research Fellowship from the Theatre Historical Society of America to conduct research in the archives at the organization’s headquarters. Amy lives in Baltimore near the Senator Theater, which helped inspire her book.
