Thursday, February 8.  Luncheon with Guest Speaker: Upstairs at noon; Lunch at 12:15.  EVERGREEN:  PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE.  In this illustrated talk, Mr. Abbott will celebrate new scholarship in the history of Baltimore’s iconic dream house, Evergreen – all of which comes from the newly published, multi-authored book, “EVERGREEN:  The Garrett Family, Collectors and Connoisseurs.”  The museum’s Philip Franklin Wagley Director and Curator will take club members on a lively tour of familiar and not so familiar rooms, showcasing some of their many treasures of fine, decorative, and literary arts.  He will also talk about the Museum’s commitment to the City of Baltimore and its upcoming projects and programs.  James Archer Abbott has recently celebrated his tenth anniversary as head of Evergreen.  He is a graduate of Vassar College and the State University of New York’s Museum Studies Program through the Fashion Institute of Technology, and he has published on a variety of themes in the areas of decorative arts and design.
