Tour: Clifton Mansion, Saturday, September 23 

Barry  Richmond, a member  of 14 West Hamilton Street Club, has arranged a tour of Clifton Mansion on Saturday, September 23 for the members of both Hamilton Street Clubs.  Built in 1801, Clifton Mansion was purchased by Johns Hopkins in 1838 and was converted into an Italianate villa by the architectural firm of Niernse and Nelson. Today it is operated by Civic Works and Friends of Clifton Mansion.  It is situated in Clifton Park which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The tour begins at 10:30 at Clifton Mansion and you should plan to be at the mansion by 10:15.  There is plenty of parking along the ring road that surrounds the villa.  A $5.00 donation per person will be collected at the mansion.  Light refreshments, complements of 14 West Hamilton Street, will be provided following the tour.   The tour is limited to 20 members and if you plan on attending, please sign up by September 9 with Dawn @ 410-727-4896 or manager@hamiltonstclub.com.
